We are open daily from 08:00 AM to 17:30 PM. Depending on the season and staff availability, the dive shop may be closed while we are out during our morning dives. If you plan on coming by in the morning, just shoot us a message on WhatsApp at + 34 620 947 753 to check that the dive shop is open. Special hours may apply during holidays, so please check our website and socials for updates.

FAQDiving on Gran Canaria

Yes! All year long there is great diving on Gran Canaria with good visibility and lots to see and explore. Specifically on the south of the island, diving conditions are generally calm and clear.

Water temperatures range from 18°C (64°F) in the winter to 24°C (75°F) in the summer.

There is so much to see! You can expect to see angel sharks (in the winter), a variety of rays like stingrays, butterfly rays, eagle rays, electric rays, loads of barracudas and sardines, the classic schools of roncadores, a variety of moray eels, octopuses…

FAQEquipment and Preparation

Yes, we offer a full range of rental equipment, including 10L/12L/15L tanks, weights, 5mm/7mm wetsuits, hoods, regulators, BCDs, fins, masks, snorkels, dive computers, and torches.

We recommend a 7mm wetsuit for the first half of the year, and a 5mm for the second half of the year. We have both available for hire at the dive shop, as well as hoods.

Good vibes, swimwear, a towel, sunscreen (or better: a hat and a rashguard for sun protection), your diving certification card/diving insurance if you have one, and any of your own dive gear you may have.

FAQDiving Insurance & Fitness to Dive

Yes, you need to provide a valid international diving certification to join our daily fun dive trips. Are you not a certified diver? Reach out anyway and join our exciting try diving experience.

No worries! We offer low-cost dive insurance through DAN Europe by IDA Insurance Limited for various durations (1, 2, 7, 30, or 365 days).

You must declare that you are fit to dive through a medical self-declaration or a signed medical certificate. If you answer “YES” to certain questions on our medical questionnaire, you will need to provide a medical certificate stating your fitness to dive.

FAQCourse theory

Yes! You will have access to all the materials online so you can read and learn it at your own pace, as well as complete any quizzes and exams online.

We will send you the eLearning relevant to your course. You’ll make an account (if you don’t have one yet) with PADI and access your course materials easily in your account.

Yes, all courses require the completion of certain sections of the PADI eLearning before in-water training. It is not required to finish completely before day 1 but it is highly recommended.

Welcome to www.nauticodiving.com, a website owned and operated by Sun-sub Gran Canaria S.L., doing business as “Nautico Dive Academy.” These Terms of Service govern your use of www.nauticodiving.com. By accessing or using our website, you agree to be bound by these terms. We reserve the right to change these Terms of Service at any time, and it is your responsibility to review them regularly before booking.

General Conditions: Fun Diving & Courses

Fitness to Dive

When reserving a scuba diving activity, you declare that you are fit to dive, either through a medical self-declaration or a signed medical certificate. If you answer “NO” to all 10 questions on the first page of the questionnaire, a medical evaluation is not required, and you may dive. If you answer “YES” to any questions marked with an asterisk or any questions on page 2, a medical certificate stating your fitness to dive must be obtained prior to any diving activities. No cancellations for medical reasons will be accepted outside the period established in the cancellation policy.


To join our daily fun dive trips, you must provide us with your valid international diving certification. We will keep a copy of your certification for our records.


All divers must show proof of valid diving insurance. If you do not have diving insurance, we provide low-cost dive insurance through DAN Europe by IDA Insurance Limited for either 1, 2, 7, 30, or 365 days.

  • Certified divers: Valid diving insurance must be shown or purchased during check-in. If your general or travel insurance covers diving, you must provide proof that it covers diving, the depth it covers, and – if you are not a Spanish resident – that it covers diving accidents abroad.

  • Student divers: You will be registered and insured under our PADI Dive Centre Insurance for the duration of your course until certification.

Broken/Lost Material

You are responsible for any rented scuba and snorkel equipment while using it. Broken or lost equipment must be replaced or paid for. We reserve the right to analyze the damage/loss and determine the amount to be paid for repair or replacement.

PADI eLearning

  • Payment: The price paid for PADI eLearning is non-refundable. PADI eLearning does not expire and can be verified by any PADI dive center worldwide.
  • Completion: All courses require completion of PADI eLearning prior to in-water training. We reserve the right to adjust in-water course dates appropriately.

Course Duration

The advertised course durations are standard minimums and may vary. We reserve the right to determine whether extra training is required for certification and the fees for additional training time.

Cancellation Policy

Sun-sub Gran Canaria S.L. will only make changes or refunds in the following cases:

  • 7 days before the start of the activity: 100% refund or a change of date.
  • Less than 7 days and more than 3 days before the start of the activity: 50% refund or a single change of date. No further refunds if a new cancellation is required after a date change.
  • Up to 3 days before the activity: No refund or change of date.

Data Protection

In accordance with European Regulation 679/2016 on data protection (RGPD), we inform you that personal data provided to Sun-sub Gran Canaria S.L. are the responsibility of the issuer and are used exclusively for managing the client relationship.

No data will be transferred to third parties except for legal obligations. You may access, rectify, suppress, limit, or oppose the processing of your data by contacting us via email.
